The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is a premier tertiary care referral centre and teaching institute located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It is an autonomous institute and university established under the State Act. It has more than 30 specialty and super-specialty departments, with state-of-the-art patient care facilities. NIMS has been providing affordable, high quality care to patients from all sections of society, for the past several decades. Since its inception in 2008, the Department of Medical Genetics in NIMS has been providing comprehensive clinical care, including diagnosis, management, genetic counselling, follow-up monitoring, and prenatal genetic testing, for patients with genetic disorders and their families.
